How to Disguise Jowls

Have you looked into the mirror only to discover that your face has begun to slip and slide in a downward direction and there's hanging skin dangling along your jaw? Well, that, according to Webster's Dictionary is the definition of a jowl.
You do not have to be overweight to see the slackening signs of age on your face; this slackening is due to atrophied facial muscles that pool into other muscles and muscle groups. Interestingly, the facial skin is attached directly to the facial muscles so when your facial muscles begin to lose their tone and vitality, you will notice that your skin begins to behave differently. You may begin to look drawn, tired and somewhat haggard.
The resemblance to an older family member might become apparent as you wonder just how in the world Aunt Hilda's jowls came to live on your face. This type of aging is not hereditary; rather, if you are over the age of twenty five, your once tight facial muscles are beginning to battle with Mother Nature. If you see jowls, you might also be saddened to see sagging eye lids and cheeks that no longer portray apples when you smile.
By now you have probably realized that jowls cannot be disguised using makeup or skin care items. No matter how sophisticated a product sounds or how promising the claims, jowls, pouches, the dreaded wattle and more are real signs of aging that need more than just topical applications. To rid your face rather of jowls and pouches, double chins, droopy foreheads, etc., requires deep muscle treatments using specialized facial exercises.
Of course, there are invasive modalities offered by some physicians that may have you running scared and you should! Cutting perfectly healthy tissue or injecting chemicals into areas that can easily affect the brain is not the easy answer to aging. If you opt for these types of unnatural fixes, you may find that the cookie cutter norm does not suit you. At first glance, you may look unrecognizable to your friends, family and co-workers and there is no camouflaging face work of this type
Aging that is propped up using injections with untested ingredients that plump and paralyze will not stop the downward slide of muscles and skin. Choosing surgery will not stop aging in your face either. The muscles and skin will continue to make their way "south;" your face may look misshapen after using these modes of treatment as hidden sutures coupled with the waning effects of injections take their toll on your once pristine face and before you know it, you might look and feel pretty discouraged with your appearance.
Rather than use costly, risky and scary methods that may not produce the desired effect, just know that by using safe, sane and tested natural methods can work quickly to lift, tone and tighten sagging facial features. Facial exercise, using your thumbs and fingers as age erasers, requires only minutes each day in front of a mirror. There is no pain, no back breaking outlay of cash and certainly no risk of your good health when you choose this natural method over injections and surgery.
The results are what count and with easy isometric movements, your results will be easily garnered and they are lasting results that will keep you looking substantially younger than your peers. You will hardly believe your eyes as your face begins rehabilitation; slowly at first using only two exercises for the upper eyes and upper cheeks. Week after week, when more exercises are added, your entire face and neck will lift and tighten. You can look 10 to 15 years younger in about 9 to 12 weeks.
Our small facial muscles weave over and under each other and attach to bone on one end in our hairline. Just as muscles in our bodies enjoy a workout, the muscles in our faces benefit from the oxygenated blood and the plumped up skin improvement is almost instantly apparent.
Mark Berman, MD, Santa Monica, CA, has studied facial exercise and has this to say, "I've seen the results and they're really quite impressive. And actually if you think about it, this makes sense medically. After all, when you exercise your body, you're going to tone and tighten the muscles in your body. So why not apply the same principles to your face? If you stay with the program, it should work indefinitely.
Whether you're 30 or 70, you're going to see a definite change... I've seen the results, and it works!"
Disguising jowls or rather reducing the appearance of jowls and other facial flaws caused by sagging muscles is possible using facial exercise only a few minutes each day. What do you have to lose? Only that tired looking face that keeps you looking old. Your appearance will greatly improve and your confidence will soar.

If You Look Younger You Might Live Longer

It is not surprising to learn that Danish scientist's say that looking young may mean that you live a younger life. This study, published online in the British Medical Journal, suggests that people who look younger may also live longer.
Now why do you think this is possible?
Is it because when you take steps every day to maintain and even improve your health that it shows on your face? Probably.
Consider the average upbringing; in these times with usually both parents working full-time jobs, some children may be introduced to pre-packaged foods, GMO or irradiated foods and water that is full of chlorine and fluoride from birth. These children, hopefully, will grow to understand the need to eat healthy, organic fruits and vegetables and use only purified water that removes chemicals that over time can sap our good health.
Children who regularly exercise usually fare better than those who are raised without exercise. Obesity levels are lower, they sleep better, their cognitive skills are improved and the list of benefits goes on and on.
Exercise is not just for kids. As adults mature exercise is important because it helps us to maintain our strength, our weight, our balance and the health of our heart, lungs and total being. Exercise is the fountain of youth and when you add nutrition to the mix, you provide an environment to thrive.
So, the question is: "Are you thriving?"
When the Danish scientists followed their test subjects to determine how perceived age correlates with survival, their peers viewed 1800 photographs of 387 sets of twins (352 men and 422 women) that were measured by who appeared more youthful along with physical and cognitive functioning. Turns out that the participants could blame their wrinkles, brown spots, red spots, dilated blood vessels on the very things that directly attribute to aging - sun, smoking, weight issues, alcohol and chemical indulgence plus sagging facial muscles.
All of us carry genetic factors that influence the condition and appearance of our skin. Perhaps we look at our older siblings and perceive that they look younger; maybe they've had less stress, maybe they have regularly exercised and taken better care of their heath.
And, maybe they have used facial exercise as their best kept anti-aging secret.
That's right! Facial exercise can help a face look 10-15 years younger without using anything invasive. It works for men and women, the process hardly takes any time at all. You're never too young or too old to begin a regimen of exercise that will lift, tone and tighten sagging facial muscles.
Just as exercise is the fountain of youth for your body, facial exercise that uses resistance and contraction can act as 'the fountain' for your face.
The stress reducing movements change the shape and contour of your face using techniques that can be completed in just minutes a day. You will feel and see the differences daily and your friends and family will marvel at the renewed vitality they see in your face.
Most users proclaim they look years younger after learning facial exercise; some say that look 10 -15 years younger. Imagine, using exercise instead of surgery and injections to keep you looking younger.
Bottom line: if your face looks old, you cannot blame your genes because the secret to youth begins with tiny, baby steps such as not smoking, watching your weight, eating healthy, organic foods, policing drug and alcohol use and certainly watching how much time you spend in the sun.
Environmental damage happens both inside and on the outside of our bodies. Protection comes in many forms such as supplement use, the products we use on our bodies, the water we drink and even the thoughts we think.
The scientists are right - if you look younger, you most likely will live longer. Looking younger is all about how you portray your calling card - your body!

Will Injecting Your Face at Home Save Thousands of Dollars?

Will the desire to look younger ever wane? Have those snake oil salesmen finally won?
In the latest do-it-yourself craze, a new at home facial injection kit has surfaced in Europe and even recently on eBay selling Botox concoctions. Oh dear.
Desperation comes in many forms. It wasn't too long ago that a woman in the Bronx hoped to improve her thigh contour by allowing her friend to inject her with silicone. Soon after the injection, Siordaliza Pichardo, died. She complained of dizziness, difficulty breathing and vomiting before she succumbed to cardiac arrest.
In the name of beauty women continue to experience mutilation, disappointment and even death when they hope to change their aging appearance using modalities that harm and disfigure.
Oh sure, you might survive the initial go-round of surgery and injections; however, surgery is dangerous business under the best of circumstances. Injections, too, can wreak havoc on a once beautiful face if you choose a facilitator who is poorly trained or you trust do-it-at-home kits that promise to plump and paralyze in hopes you will look years younger.
Dying to look beautiful takes on new meaning when you learn how many people are harmed with scars, anesthesia mishaps, infections, nerve damage, disappointments and lingering medical conditions that may not always resolve themselves over time.
When most women look in the mirror, they express dissatisfaction with how their faces are aging. When a non-scientific poll was used by ABC's "The View" asking if their viewers would rather save their face or their butt, the audience overwhelmingly stated that they would rather save their faces.
Not too surprising considering that we can disguise our bodies with body armor, slimming black clothes and trendy layers. When you want to disguise your face, what exactly are you trying to hide?
Most aging in the face appears as sagging facial features. Sagging necks, droopy cheeks, hooded eyes are impossible to camouflage.
Sure we can conceal certain sun damage and spots, uneven pigmentation, even wrinkles can be covered with gels, potions and spackles so that they're less apparent under makeup but the real look of aging occurs when cheeks sag, eyes droop and that double chin threatens to become a triple.
The choices to correct aging features are mostly unnatural - what is available for you? Surgery, injections, liposuction, electro-stimulation, laser? All expensive, temporary and unreliable modalities with no guarantees that the results you get will be results you like.
There is a very smart choice that works for everyone's aging face; it can be used at home, there is nothing invasive about it, it certainly isn't dangerous nor does it deplete your bank account on a regular basis.
The secret to a youthful face comes from the Fountain of Youth - Facial exercise!
After all, the nips 'n tucks, the injections, laser treatments and more, there is nothing more reliable than exercise to give your face that look of youth you desire.
Just like exercise works to tone and tighten the muscles in your buttocks and thighs, our facial muscles are no different. They, too, soften from lack of exercise. When your forehead muscle atrophies your eyebrows drop and eyelids become lined. The same is true of your cheeks, jowls and neck.
Isometric, resistance exercises target and strengthen the underlying muscles of your face. It just makes sense. By firming and lifting these muscles, the youthful contours of your face return, so skin looks younger, healthier and fresher.
Yes, you can look years younger without painful and costly invasive procedures.
Facial exercise is a natural method that corrects droopy facial features quickly and easily and the movements can be quickly executed to promote a younger, more vibrant facial appearance in just weeks.
Reliable, easy and noticeable results are just a few adjectives that describe an at-home treatment that indeed works to help you discover the youthful face you thought you had lost forever.
What do you have to lose? Just saggy facial features that make you look old and tired.

To Cut or Not to Cut

As Mother Nature marches across your face will you be tempted to have the hands of time surgically removed in hopes that by eliminating the offending sags and bags you will look younger?
For some looking in the mirror takes its toll on the psyche as self-confidence diminishes. Looking old, looking tired while seeing a practically unrecognizable face will send even the most hopeful scurrying to locate something or someone to help them with their plight.
Drugstore cosmetics, high end department store cosmetics, skin care and cosmetics from the physician or dermatologist all present one constant theme urging the user to try and buy their latest concoctions. Now skin care is important and mineral cosmetics are wonderful for evening out pigmentation flaws and disguising fine lines and wrinkles but do they really go to work to combat the real cause of an aging face?
The real cause of an aging face is soft, droopy, sagging facial muscles. Consider this: eyebrows drop with age so if you see hooded eyes, a lined forehead, crows' feet and even puffiness under your eyes, this is a clear indication that your forehead is compromised because you are wearing muscles that are soft and mushy.
The mid face can also suffer from slackness. This is evident when the cheek muscles elongate and the apples of your cheeks are positioned somewhere near your nose. Usually a fold or line develops near the nose - this is called the nasal labial fold - and it is tell-tale evidence that your once taut, youthful face is losing its distinctive edge as the muscles that are anchored in the hairline begin to lengthen and slacken.
The lower face shows signs of age when there is a loosening of the muscles around the mouth and outward into the lower cheeks. Perhaps there are pouches and jowls developing on or near the jawbone, the mouth corners may turn downward and a little line can form under your bottom lip. The mouth muscle, the Obicularis Oris, is a circular muscle that surrounds the lips; when atrophy affects this muscle, lines above the lips can form while the soft-tissue of the lips deflate.
The neck and upper chest are also affected by withered muscles. Beyond the lines and neck rings that are apparent in anyone over 40, bulges and sags under the jawbone can certainly deter from a once youthful face as a double chin and wattle continually remind the wearer that an aging face is no laughing matter.
In a youth-conscious environment, brought to the forefront almost daily by the media as they glom onto the latest and greatest anti-aging serums, lotions, potions, injections and surgical procedures that easily captivate viewers on the nightly news, cyberspace and slick publications, it seems that brainwashing is occurring. Could it be that discouraged men and women are encouraged to use risky and dangerous substances and procedures to prop up aging faces?
Cutting perfectly healthy tissue, injecting chemically laden serums to plump and paralyze wayward facial features while burning one's flesh using lasers that can result in pigmentation loss and painful deep heat treatments does not sound like beauty treatments - rather, these avenues seem torturous and somewhat barbaric because there are no guarantees that you will love the results you receive. What will be the reaction from your friends and family when they see your new face? Will they turn away in surprise or horror and secretly wonder 'what was she thinking?'
What about you? Will you come through these treatments unscathed? Many patients report that their nips and tucks were unsatisfactory and then seek revision surgery which is just more surgery to lift and tighten sagging skin and muscles. What these gals may not know is that even though surgery and injections create an initial difference in the skin and muscles, the facial muscles continue their slow, insidious downward slide and this downward motion affects the behavior of our skin. We may see wrinkles forming where we didn't have them previously and scars that once were hidden can become more visible as loose skin collects around the incision.
What about the upkeep? Injections are designed to be repeated every 90 to 120 days so four times a year, year after year, a visit to the practitioner for another round of injections will run $800 each or more each time.
Instantaneous results? You bet! The slick advertising arouses the senses, doesn't it? In your mind's eye you can easily visualize a younger looking face - it's the 'what if' disasters that may deter you from seeking a surgical intervention and the younger face you desire.
Choosing modalities that put your good health at risk may mean that you haven't looked at all the options available.
The most valuable option is facial exercise. Just like exercise works for your body, exercise can work to correct the root cause of aging in the face - sagging facial muscles. Once you learn the anchoring techniques and how to contract those droopy muscles with isometric movements, your face will always look substantially younger as long as you are faithful to the exercise routine.
Imagine lifting droopy eyelids, contouring cheeks and stopping that dreaded wattle only using your thumbs and fingers. Can you visualize your face looking ten to fifteen years younger? Well, that is possible when you choose all natural facial exercise over risk, pain, scarring, discoloration and even death.
Without cutting, suturing, pain or risk your face will lift, tone and tighten and before you know it, your confidence will soar because you love that person looking back in the mirror.

Will Plastic Surgery Turn You Into an Addict?

"I don't feel prettier, I don't feel younger. I just feel scarred."
These are the words from Laura Perella, the author of Chasing Beauty, her cautionary tale of the toll chasing beauty through plastic surgery took on her life.
Laura chose to have fifteen surgeries from age 25 to age 35, and spent $60,000 hoping to improve her already God-given good looks. She now warns others who might be swayed into believing that surgery and injections will stave off Mother Nature's tromp across their faces that they might meet up with the same bad plastic surgeons she hired. Today at 39 years of age, she shares her plight: "I don't feel prettier, I don't feel younger. I just feel scarred."
Laura is probably the exception because most patients do not undergo quite so many procedures. She encourages young women to seek other modalities because chasing beauty through plastic surgery takes a toll on your body, your good looks and certainly your bank account.
You know, Laura is not alone because many plastic surgery users have spoken out regarding their disappointment with their surgical results. One plastic surgeon remarked that 'Plastic surgeon' has been called a psychiatrist with a scalpel. More aptly plastic surgeons are not the magicians their clients wish they were. There are wonderfully trained surgeons but unrealistic expectations and surprises can derail even the best procedure.
What women want is a younger looking face. One that is toned and tightened. They want natural beauty, not man-made, cookie-cutter features.
If you choose surgery and injections these methods may produce disappointing results; surgery is dangerous business and yes, cosmetic procedures are indeed surgery. Tummy tucks, liposuction, facelifts, eye lifts, jowls lifts, neck lifts all require sedation and cutting.
Using injections to plump nasal labial folds, lips and more can also produce disappointing results; allowing injections of toxins and chemicals to paralyze your facial muscles also have drawbacks like creating droopy eye brows and bunny wrinkles alongside your nose. What? More wrinkles?
Yes, when you paralyze one portion of your face, your surrounding muscles must compensate for the paralysis. The paralysis primarily immobilizes a particular muscle but studies show that there is migration of the serum especially when it is injected into the face - namely it migrates to your brain.
The warnings include the usual superfluous ones like swelling, redness at the injection site and maybe a droopy eyelid that will probably correct itself in a few weeks - certainly in less than three months. The very telling danger lies in the words of caution such as:
• Paralysis of a nearby muscle that could interfere with opening the eye(s)
• Disorientation, double vision or past pointing (dizziness or imbalance)
• Temporary asymmetrical appearance
• Abnormal or lack of facial expression
• Local numbness
• Headache, nausea or flu-like symptoms
• Swallowing, speech or respiratory disorders
• Facial pain
• Product ineffectiveness
• Muscle atrophy
• Nerve irritability
• Production of antibodies with unknown effect to general health
• Death
• Serious disability
Some of the most unusual authorization aspects are the statements that a patient must agree to if they choose Botox:
• I am aware and accept that no guarantees about the results of the procedure have been made or implied.
• I understand and accept that the long-term effects of repeated use of Botox Cosmetic are as yet unknown.
The effects of Botox are temporary yet the effects can cause long-lasting side effects. Just so you know other injections that plump up the grooves in your face and deflated lips have no long term testing either so if you are disappointed that your results do not meet your expectations you might want to consider non-invasive methods.
Choosing surgery and injections cost a lot of money and long-term use may put your heath at risk. Is this good common sense? Yes, injections are less radical than surgery but over time there can be complications. Remember, there has been no long-term testing on any injection used for cosmetic purposes.
So what can stop the downward slide of your face?
Specialized facial exercises act as a preventative measure and also help reverse the look of aging in your face. Just as exercise works for your body, facial exercise techniques that isolate, anchor and contract the muscles using gloved thumbs and fingers will lift, tone and tighten sagging facial muscles in hardly any time at all.
A sagging face is a result of soft, lax, droopy muscles. The facial skin is attached directly to the tiny, hidden muscles so when these muscles elongate from lack of use, they drag your skin downward, creating wrinkles that add to the look of old.
Most facial exercise users love their results and will tell you that their new faces developed slowly but surely when they dedicated themselves to exercising regularly. Facial exercise doesn't take much time but the results can be startling. Imagine, your face looking 10 -15 years younger without one stitch or injection. Using thumbs and fingers and armed with the knowledge that you can create a younger looking face that everybody notices, you'll never have to worry about an addiction to surgery or injections.

Celebrity Plastic Surgery Makes Headlines

When I was a teenager no one I knew had a surgically altered face. Plastic surgery was practically unheard of while growing up in Oklahoma with the nearest city twenty miles away; the only people we saw were those from our small, farming community and the women there rarely colored their gray hair.
The popular celebrities of the day did not have surgically altered faces yet we knew they were thin and beautiful and we wanted to look just like them.
That desire to emulate celebrities has not changed as we see non-celebrities from every part of the world dressing and copying their styles of clothing, buying and wearing celebrity named fragrances and some wannabes have even resorted to plastic surgery to imitate their favorite celebrity's faces.
Celebrities have been considered our royalty and we usually put a lot of trust in them; in fact, there is an implied consent that whatever they do is probably OK so if the celebs are busy chasing the elusive fountain of youth using surgical enhancements and injections that plump and paralyze, the hanger-ons are probably doing the same. Consider this: when celebrities sport plumped up cheeks and big lips, it's not long before the fans are flocking to imitate the look. Whether the fans go for the Jennifer Aniston hair, Heidi's breasts, the Angelina lips or the lifted derriere of Kim Kardashian, you can be certain that these enhanced attributes will not go unnoticed by their adoring admirers.
Looking young presents a lot of pressure for even the most beautiful because that natural beauty slowly abandons us. If you are in the entertainment business hoping to make a sufficient living in film, video, the stage, runway or television the stress and anxiety to maintain a desirable weight can be daunting. The constant pressure of starving while trying to maintain a flawless face can send even the most emotionally secure star over the edge much to the delight of those who prey on insecurities.
There is peer pressure for actors and actresses to look, act and dress a certain way and with celebrity sites like Perez Hilton and TMZ who have no qualms about publishing unflattering poses it is no wonder celebs feel they are living under a microscope. If the star is addicted to fame and craves constant media attention, who knows, they may become addicted to plastic surgery procedures, too, because of the demands placed on them. This attention may compel them to use certain injected artificial enhancements that provide plumper cheeks, paralyzed foreheads and fillers that flatten nasal labial folds. Does this mean they can face the camera without reservations? Not necessarily.
The powers that be - those casting directors and producers - are beginning to call for natural faces, not artificially enhanced faces to cast in their productions. The fact is this: when injections and sutures are used extensively on a face, that person rarely looks youthful, they just look done, sometimes over done.
So what is the answer to look fresh and youthful whether you're in front of the camera or not?
Facial exercise is the intelligent choice. It works to de-age faces; it works to keep the facial muscles toned. Most of all the facial skin smoothes and lifts so the user looks younger and very refreshed. Just think - a younger looking face without resorting to surgery, injections or drugs of any kind to create, maintain and retain a youthful face.
How is it possible that an exercise program can do all that and more?
It's all in the technique. A facial exercise program must have resistance, anchoring and contraction for the facial muscles to respond positively. Twists, puckers, contortions and funny faces will not change the shape and contour of your face; it is when you use your thumbs and fingers to anchor those tiny, hidden muscles that you will see your face react. Contraction of these anchored muscles lifts and smoothes the entire face and neck.
Aging is different for everyone and most facial exercise users report they look 10-15 years younger after using the techniques only a few weeks. This all natural program allows you to take charge of your face just as you would your body. Just as exercise works for your body to trim, tighten, lift and tone your sagging waist, tummy, hips, thighs and arms, facial exercise will indeed lift, tone and tighten those sagging facial muscles that make you look tired and old.
An authentic face is much more appealing; it's easy to maintain and your face will most likely look more youthful than a face that has been artificially enhanced.

How to Fix Your Face With Exercise

Sagging faces are no laughing matter. If you happen to witness your jaw line being quietly invaded by your upper cheeks, you are not alone. The good news is that there is hope for your jaw line, your sagging cheeks and even the dreaded wattle because facial exercise can easily change the shape and contour of those droopy features that can make you appear older than your years.
Facial features atrophy just like other parts of the body. If you're over 40 you are certainly seeing a thickening waist line if you don't exercise, expanding hips and thighs and a wiggly under arm as muscles elongate and skin sags.
It's hard to feel attractive when you're seeing signs of aging especially when the aging is in your face. Our faces are our brand. People recognize us by our facial appearance and if your face shows despair, stress, lines, sags and wrinkles, you may not be presenting your best face scenario.
Just how and why does aging affect the face? An aging face develops when the muscles that connect into the hairline begin to atrophy or loosen. Then those tiny muscles slide downward into other muscles and muscles groups. The pooling of one muscle into another can create bags, noticeable sagging and even wrinkles. Atrophy is another word for dis-use or weakening.
Without exercise your face will continue to fail you. You will indeed look older and feel less confident in your appearance if you do not stop the downward slide of your facial muscles.
Using exercise is easy and simple to master and once you learn the techniques, you will always know how to maintain a youthful face without resorting to costly invasive procedures that put your good health at risk. Most faithful users of facial exercise proclaim that their faces look ten, fifteen, even twenty years younger than their peers.
Learning an exercise regimen means that you probably can't be lured into believing that your only remedy for facial aging is at the tip of a syringe or a scalpel. Repeated injecting and numerous surgeries won't equate to a younger face; rather, the over-use of these modalities can create a freakish appearance. Plumping and paralyzing injections are toxic substances - exercise is natural.
More good news surrounding facial exercise is that if you have opted for injections or surgery in the past, you probably will give them up entirely when you rely on exercise techniques to keep a soft, mushy forehead taut; the nose to mouth labial folds will begin to flatten and reposition in just days. You will notice that every portion of your face and neck can be exercised with great success and the program only takes a few minutes a day to complete.
Day by day you will see lifting, tightening and toning of your facial features. You will feel the lifting and soon it will be apparent to everyone that something new is occurring with your face.
There are special anchoring techniques that create the lifting. The muscles in the face attach to bone on one end and the other end attaches to either another muscle or muscle group and the end of a facial muscle can also attach to the skin. The anchoring techniques are performed wearing exercise gloves and they are easy to master. Anchoring is necessary in order to create the needed tightening of the muscles so the affected areas can respond to the isometric contractions.
The exercise movements work to refine, tone, lift, enhance and smooth the areas that age you. Just as exercise works your thighs, buttocks, arms and torso, facial exercise goes to work to stop atrophy of your forehead, eye lids, jowls, pouches, cheeks, neck and more. The simple exercises target and strengthen the underlying muscles of your face. It just makes sense. By firming and lifting these muscles, the youthful contours of your face return and you skin looks younger, healthier and fresher.
You can fix your face, look years younger without costly and painful invasive procedures and proudly wear a youthful, more vibrant appearance. Remember, exercise changes everything and you will see and feel the results almost immediately.

Facial Exercise - How to Look Younger Than Your Years

Facial exercise is your most important asset if you want to present a younger looking face to the world.
Truly, your face is your calling card, your brand. Performing easy to use facial exercise will boost your self esteem and your confidence will soar when you realize that you have the power to maintain a youthful face.
Maybe you don't feel so confident right now or skeptical or even bored with the thought of actually doing something for yourself. You might see aging so severe that it takes your breath away; maybe your double chin or sagging eyes are getting in the way of your daily performance. If this is so, take heart. There is hope for you and the answer is at your fingertips - literally.
Facial exercise can produce immediate results and long lasting results but guess what? You have to make a commitment to yourself in order for these fantastic techniques to really change the shape and contour of your face. Consider this: if you purchase a pair of dumbbells and they sit on the floor day after day without you actually picking them up and executing the recommended movements, your arms will stay flabby.
Wouldn't you rather have the tools to maintain your youthfulness rather than opting for modalities that may eventually cause risk and harm to your beautiful face? Many people are deluded into believing that surgery and injections are much quicker avenues to deal with a sagging face because the ads and brochures sound so compelling and the pictures - well, wowee zowee! Those airbrushed faces look pretty amazing and without a doubt you want that same type of wow for your face.
Results from facial exercise can de-age your face about ten to fifteen years in twelve weeks. Users see very positive results quickly. Mark Berman, MD, Santa Monica, CA says this regarding facial exercise: "Actually if you think about it, this makes sense medically. After all, when you exercise your body, you're going to tone and tighten the muscles in your body. So why not apply the same principles to your face. If you stay with the program, it should work indefinitely. Whether you're 30 or 70, you're going to see a definite change. I've seen the results, and it works!"
Without surgery, without drugs or risk, your face will look younger. The healing time from any surgery is about one year and the strange thing about allowing someone to operate on your face or any other part of your body, is this: you may not like the results you're given. We see this disappointment in botched breast implants, noses that look a little skewed, eye lids that don't quite close, cheeks that are over puffed and sometimes pulled so tightly that the nose is affected...the list goes on and on.
If a wealthy celebrity can be disappointed with their results, will you? There are wonderful surgeons but they're not magicians; things can go wrong and when they do, there is no going back to the face you loved. Even injections can be overdone - fillers that plump and paralyze can make your face seem out of proportion and when you opt for re-enhancement too soon, too often, your face can become freakish and misshapen.
The irony of cutting perfectly healthy tissue and injecting chemicals into the face in the name of beauty sounds bizarre when facial exercise works so easily.
Everyone benefits from using facial exercise. Those who have had injections and surgery at first can be cynical not believing that exercise can replace their plumping and paralyzing injection schedules but it is true - once the muscles begin to enjoy the benefit of isometric and contraction, you begin to see that your skin looks and acts younger while your features lift and tighten. Droopy foreheads, tired, diminished eyes, crow's feet, sagging cheeks, hollows, lower mouth issues, wattle, double chin and more are the target areas.
Facial exercise movements require only a few seconds each day to execute. The best way to learn how to perform the exercises is to learn them two at a time and practice them six days in a row. Each week two new movements can be learned so that your face is systematically lifting and tightening each week.
Using the exercise techniques consistently will de-age your face easily and efficiently. You will marvel each time you perform the techniques because those tiny muscles appreciate the good feelings of revitalization, toning and lifting. The results? A younger, better looking face that makes you feel proud.

Can Facial Injections Affect More Than Just Your Wrinkles?

Imagine your face paralyzed, unable to exhibit facial expressions such as happiness or even sadness because your brain cannot process simple, ordinary, everyday emotions. Would you book an appointment with a neurosurgeon or internist or would you simply stop making appointments for paralyzing cosmetic injections?
New information has been published describing that certain paralyzing injections (Botox®) not only presents an inability to fully express emotions but now new information details that these injections may impair the ability to fully feel emotions.
These findings are a result of Joshua Davis, a psychologist at Barnard College in New York and colleague Ann Senghas who led a team of researchers experimenting and tracking their subjects who were injected either with Botox or Restylane®. Restylane is a plumping filler that is injected under sagging skin.
Restylane was chosen as part of the control because it doesn't impede or limit muscle movement.
The study subjects were injected first with either Botox or Restylane then, shown emotionally charged videos and then injected again with the plumping fillers and paralyzing toxins. Bottom line - the Botox participants "exhibited an overall significant decrease in the strength of emotional experience." The Botox group reportedly responded less strongly to the videos after they had been injected. This paper was published in the June journal Emotion.
Cosmetic injections that paralyze facial muscles are manufactured by Allergan using an exceptionally powerful neurotoxin called Botulinum A. These injections have been approved to treat the glabellar lines, those vertical lines between the eyebrows; however, there are many off-label uses that physicians administer Botox for such as excessive sweating, lifting small breasts to keep them from sagging, migraine headaches and even downturned mouth corners are injected hoping the toxin will somehow turn that frown upside down.
Not too surprising that the brain cannot process the experience of emotion. The mind/body connection is very powerful and fooling with this mechanism that works so beautifully with substances that may have detrimental side effects after years of use probably upsets Mother Nature.
Using and choosing drugs for beauty purposes has a hollow ring. The results of the paralyzing injections are pretty obvious, especially when you watch high definition television. One daytime TV actress recently sported a new look - she had paralyzing injections in her forehead; she certainly could not frown but the most interesting aspect of her face was that her eyebrows were severely lower than usual. Her makeup artist could not hide this flaw.
A lax and loose forehead will wrinkle easily; yes, those pesky 'elevens' between the eyebrows are another dead giveaway that your forehead suffers from atrophy and even the upper eye lid is affected by the downward slide of the forehead muscle.
Do you believe that a paralyzing drug is the only answer to correct your sagging forehead? Are you convinced that a surgical brow lift will stop that large cascading muscle that keeps your eye brows in place?
Surgery and drugs should be the very last resort if you are concerned about sagging facial muscles.
Let's face it - physicians and surgeons are usually well trained but they are not magicians. They have hits and misses just like a hair stylist. The doctor injecting the above referenced daytime TV star supposedly had only the best intentions and he probably rues his client's disappointing results. Usually the effects of Botox that caused the drooping eyebrows will begin to wear off in 90 days so hopefully there will not be long lasting damage.
Using specialized facial exercises will keep your face younger looking without resorting to injections and surgical procedures. Just like exercise works for the body to tighten and tone the muscles, facial exercise that uses isometric contractions will immediately go to work to lift those sagging facial muscles up and back into the hairline.
Without any danger or disappointment or big dollars out of pocket you can change the shape and contour of your face using your age erasers - your thumbs and fingers. The movements are so easy and they're learned in just seconds; once you understand the routine, you can systematically enhance every region of your face and neck in the privacy of your own home.
Facial injections may become a thing of the past when you learn that you can create results that will last indefinitely. Looking younger has never been easier and it's done without anything harmful or risky. And, the best part is that your face can show and feel your emotions.

Facial Exercise - More Important Than Your Resume

It is a well documented fact that pretty, good looking people have earning power greater than those peers who are average looking. Wearing our assets really does work because according to economist Daniel Hamermest, a drop dead gorgeous man can earn $250,000 more than his least-attractive counterpart over his career.
The same goes for women. Good looking women will indeed earn more and have more promotions. The question is - will you want to spend those extra dollars buying injections of fillers and paralyzing toxins hoping to maintain or advance your career? Will you willingly graduate from injections to surgeries and lasers as you constantly peruse enticing cosmetic surgery ads that promise to stave off the inevitable signs of an aging face? Statistics have long demonstrated that women are attracted to many types of cosmetic and physical enhancements and typically spend more money than men although men are certainly using cosmetic surgery and beauty improvements as they frequent establishments that cater to the upscale man.
What makes a man or woman more attractive? Is it a slim nose, a symmetrical face or a combination of good looks and personality? Science tells us that symmetrical faces are beautiful faces; Plato described the "golden proportions" of the ideal face as the width of the face is an exact two thirds of its length and the perfect nose is no longer than the distance between your eyes.
Symmetry means a balanced, even looking face and that is appealing. Think Denzel Washington and Elizabeth Hurley.
Can you buy a natural looking symmetrical face that looks energetic and bright using surgery and injections? It's doubtful although muscle structure is altered during surgery, you may not see results that equate to symmetry, vibrancy and youthfulness.
From a NEWSWEEK article, it was disclosed that 57 percent of hiring managers said that qualified but unattractive candidates are likely to have a harder time landing a job and advised that the applicants should spend their money on "making sure they look attractive" rather than perfecting their resume.
What makes a person look unattractive? Is it jowls and pouches along the jaw line? Hooded eyes? Sagging cheeks? A double chin? Lines and wrinkles? A scowling face with frown lines?
If you are entertaining thoughts that plastic surgery and injections that plump and paralyze will help your job search, you might want to consider using more natural means that will not cause your face to appear misshapen or pulled or overdone.
For anyone seeking employment facial exercise, using your thumbs and fingers in white cotton gloves, makes the most sense. Rather than going into debt or under the knife, you can change the shape and contour of your face when isometric with resistance contractions are practiced. Facial exercise can reverse the signs of aging by lifting and toning those flabby areas that make us look older than our years.
De-aging a face with exercise requires only a few minutes each day in front of a mirror. As you learn how to anchor the muscles and muscle groups, you will see and feel your face respond to these natural, proven movements; your face like your body receives great benefit from exercise and your confidence level improves because you see and feel your face lifting and responding to the specialized exercises.
Just as exercise tightens the muscles in your buttocks and thighs that soften over time, your facial muscles soften, too, from lack of exercise. When you witness drooping in your eye lids and see crow's feet developing, that is a result of your vertical forehead muscle losing its tone and vitality then pushing and pooling downward into the eye muscles. When you see folds and pouches making an appearance near the mouth, this is a result of those facial muscles that attach in the hairline on one end elongating and pooling into other muscles that surround the lower mouth. Same goes for a double chin; the heavy, wide neck muscle will look flabby and out of shape if it is not exercised regularly.
Simple isometric, resistance exercises will target and strengthen those tiny, underlying muscles. By firming and lifting these muscles, the youthful contours of your face returns, so your skin looks younger, healthier and fresher.
Imagine looking years younger without resorting to costly, painful and invasive procedures that have no guarantee that you will like the results. With exercise you look like you only ten to fifteen years younger. Men look boyish and women look stress-less and refreshed as those sagging facial features benefit from the oxygen rich blood delivered to the facial tissues. In just a few short weeks of exercising only a few minutes each day, the youthful contours you thought you had lost forever begin to return.
These simple yet effective exercises will provide noticeable results. You can restore, renew and refresh your entire face and confidently nail your job interview because your face, your calling card - your brand - looks toned, tightened and lifted. The best part? You did it yourself without one stitch, suture or injection.

Facial Exercise Prevents Plastic Surgery Regrets

Plastic surgery regrets appear to be rampant as more and more people reveal that they are dissatisfied with their surgeries and it just may be a result of unrealistic expectations. Why? Is it because plastic surgeons are human, not magicians, or is it a result of poor workmanship via a scalpel?
Even cosmetic filler injections that plump and paralyze do not always provide the look of youthfulness that is desired; just recently Kim Kardashian was complaining in the news that Botox injections around her eyes left her bruised and she is unhappy with those results.
Kim is not alone; the website Cosmetic Surgery Bible has researched the industry and discovered that only 37% of those surgically enhanced subjects polled liked their results. This is stunning news that makes one wonder why, if the odds of disliking a procedure is so great, is it worth the pain, risk and expense to choose this modality at all.
Seeing a saggy, droopy face looking back at you is no laughing matter. Seeing the look of old does nothing to lift your spirits or your confidence; a tired, old looking face can create the feeling of a bad hair day every day. Witnessing the development of jowls, pouches and other sagging facial features creates a feeling of hopelessness and this feeling can in turn cause long term damage to the psyche, even desperation.
The old adage 'desperate people do desperate things' has probably fueled the plastic surgery industry. Even though the results might be less than stellar, desperate women and men continue to use these procedures just hoping that their faces will not become a statistic for the negative side of surgery or injections.
Did you know that when you reach your late 30's the production of collagen is lessened and droopiness can become apparent seemingly overnight?
If you closely examine your face you might see that your eye lids are lined, even loosely pooling downward toward the lashes, perhaps the lines are beginning to extend to the outer eye as crow's feet begin their development. Maybe your lower mouth doesn't look as firm as it did even a few weeks ago or that little wattle under your chin is beginning to appear more prominent.
Clearly the face shows age from the outward influences of sun but stress and life experience can also add years to your appearance. Turning back the hands of time is appealing and it is easy.
Facial exercise that uses isometric contraction will allow you to not only lift sagging facial features, but the exercises take only seconds to complete and the results are noticeable almost immediately. Isometric exercise has been demonstrated to stimulate tissue growth, burn fat and strengthen the muscles that support your skin.
In the face the muscles are attached directly to the skin so when you plump up, contour and reposition sagging facial muscles, your skin receives the benefit of increased oxygenation and nutrients. Facial exercise that uses isometric training is strength building for the face; these muscle movements contract the muscles and provide you a younger looking face.
Using facial exercise rather than injections that plump and paralyze or surgeries that leave tell-tale suture lines is a risk free, sure-fire way to create and maintain a younger looking face. Without pain, risk of infection and even disappointment your face can look like it did five, ten, even fifteen years ago. Exercise will tone, tighten and lift sagging facial muscles by addressing all regions of the face and neck.
Double chins can flatten, jowls and pouches can lift, a lined, tired forehead can revitalize and smooth; in fact, upper cheeks, lower cheeks, downturned mouths, sagging necklines and even your nose can greatly benefit from isometric exercises. When tired, sagging facial muscles begin to awaken with new life you will see and feel the difference.
What could be better? A new you is possible and you don't have to spend time away from family and friends, do anything risky or spend those hard earned after tax dollars on something that has no guarantee of success. Facial exercise creates beauty naturally.

Wearing the Mask You Can Never Remove

Celebrities have it so easy, don't they? They walk into a restaurant and go to the head of the line. They are showered with gifts and perks wherever they go - limos, drivers who hold the car door open for them, baskets of fruit, flowers and candy when they check into a first-class hotel, free clothes from designers, goody bags that are worth thousands of dollars and the list goes on and on.
The one aspect of celebrity that may not be as appealing is the fact that celebs are usually very willing to undergo plastic surgery or endure a battery of injections that plump and paralyze their faces hoping to stave off the inevitable signs of an aging face. Sometimes these facial procedures are anything but pleasing enhancements as we have witnessed over blown lips, cheeks that make the face appear fat and distorted, beady looking eyes that are a result of too much filler around the cheeks, breasts way too dramatic and of course, who can forget the wind tunnel look?
Celebrities are constantly under the proverbial microscope. Their weight, their clothes, shoes, accessories and especially their faces are watched frequently by those bloggers who report on their every move. Perezhilton, Dlisted and Cocoperez are constantly eyeing celebs and their comments - some are complimentary, even nice, some not so nice.
Celebrity or not choosing to allow your face to be injected or cut takes a lot of nerve. There are no guarantees that you will love or even like the results you are given and if you don't like your new nose, breast enhancement, face, buttocks or whatever you've chosen to be enhanced, no one is likely to refund your money or schedule another procedure free of charge.
We've read that Heidi Montag now believes her breasts are too large and that they interfere with certain everyday responsibilities, tasks and even her workouts. We've read that Kathy Griffith and Jamie Lee Curtis are done experimenting with their faces - no more Botox or even liposuction. Joan Rivers and Jocelyn Wildestein have probably had the most face time - no pun intended - with the media dissecting the transformation their faces have endured through the years. The list of celebs, most who have many, many more dollars than the average gal, will not always love the results they're given.
Where does that leave you?
Doctors who practice plastic surgery are not magicians or even artists; they learn their craft via cadaver practice. Some docs have the knack of producing really good work; some specialize in noses or breasts so how do you choose? Even if you have seen face work that looks natural, it doesn't mean that it will be successfully repeated if you decide to opt for procedures that alter your appearance. Remember, some mistakes are permanent and there is no going back if you opt for sutures. Even injections may leave residual tell-tale signs of bunny lines and lopsidedness.
Surgery and injections are extremely expensive avenues; there are reports that tell us that many users of these modalities do not like the results they bought. Statistically, one in four former plastic surgery patients really like their results; in fact, Cosmetic Surgery Bible releases these statistics: Just 37% of respondents said they were happy with their results, with 37% saying they were dissatisfied and 26% stating they had mixed emotions.
Well, if surgery and injections are so iffy, what can be reliable?
The safest and sanest alternative to facial plastic surgery, fillers and other injections is facial exercise. Yes, facial exercise can quickly and easily rehabilitate tired, sagging facial muscles that make you look older than your years.
Grab your mirror and take a look at what's going on with your face. Do you see hooded eyes, sagging cheeks, a droopy mouth, jowls, pouches and a double chin?
If your face is beginning to resemble your Mom's, beginning a facial exercise routine now will greatly improve your appearance. In just minutes a day you can take charge of the aging process when you learn this exercise routine. Reliably and deliberately, your face will begin to lift, tighten and take on a younger appearance.
Isometric contractions with anchoring techniques (resistance) are ideal for shaping and contouring those sagging facial muscles. Just like your legs, arms, tummy, hips and thighs enjoy a good workout with slimming results, your face will appreciate the good feeling it gets when you don your white exercise gloves, stand in front of your mirror and perform the movements that tone and lift your facial muscles.
You will be so pleased with yourself, your confidence level will soar and you will smile knowing that you can proudly wear your beautiful face that looks like it did five, ten even fifteen years ago.

Does Having Face Work Still Carry a Stigma?

The world is turning and the tides are shifting because facial plastic surgery is becoming less mainstream as words like natural, authentic and less-indulgent echo into our consciousness stream.
It wasn't so long ago that we watched celebrity after celebrity parade their frozen faces, plumped lips and refined noses down the red carpet. It is usually pretty easy to spot whose face has been touched by a scalpel and pricked by a needle; the cookie cutter effect is evidenced, too, in the celebrity magazines and blogs, some of it good, some of it not so good.
The not so good faces seem to sport a hard, misshapen, plastic look - some faces even appear to have been a victim of a fire - a fiery laser or overdone chemical treatments? Do you suppose they chose this look? Beauty treatments can include cosmetic surgery, liposuction, heat treatments, injections and more; sometimes the results can miss the mark and it is indeed sad when the results disappoint the person who just wanted to wear a younger looking face and a more shapely body.
Celebrities are not the only ones lamenting their surgery decisions because the procedures that were once coveted by only the well-to-do are now available to everyone with a decent credit rating. That's right - that new nose, breast enhancement, forehead injections and liposuction you've been considering can all be bought with plastic. You can buy whatever you want but no one can guarantee the results.
Buyer beware!
Surgery gone wrong is displayed on many websites - did someone ignore the warnings?
The warnings have been posted for a long time - plastic surgery is surgery and surgery has many risks. Choosing a board certified plastic surgeon does give you an edge towards a successful outcome but keep in mind that unless that surgeon is an artist, you may regret the results you are given, especially if your friends and family display a negative response to your cosmetic enhancements.
There is certainly nothing wrong wanting to look your absolute best and if you choose surgery and injections as a means for improvement, well, that's your prerogative but remember this: you do not need to risk your beautiful face to look younger.
Feeling comfortable in your skin can take on an even deeper meaning when you say no to injections that plump and paralyze facial features, say no to disfiguring surgical procedures and any modality that might cause you irreparable harm while draining your bank account of thousands of dollars.
So what do you do if you want help for a sagging face so that you look younger using sane and safe methods? One avenue is skincare. Skincare systems can resurface, exfoliate and nourish the face we present to the world but everyone knows that skincare alone is not enough to stop or reverse the development of a sagging, droopy face.
The needles and sutures can prop up sagging facial skin but these temporary fixes do not address the underlying cause of aging you see in the face. A face looks older because the muscles under the skin are soft and atrophied. These small elongating muscles pull the skin downward and this can be the beginning of wrinkles and folds.
Cheeks, mouths, eyes, forehead, jaw line and more are all affected by gravity, atrophy and weight of the muscles pooling into other muscles and muscle groups. Loose skin that develops as a direct result of weight loss and loss of volume is typically cut away if you choose surgery but what if you don't want surgery? Does Mother Nature offer another solution?
The answer is yes.
Facial exercise that uses resistance and anchoring techniques can greatly enhance every portion of the face and neck. Rather than cutting perfectly healthy tissue, subjecting your body to painful thermal/laser procedures or using a modality that may not produce the desired results, you can opt for a natural procedure that works for everyone.
Will you look younger when you complete the regimen? Most people respond with a resounding "yes!"
Just like exercise for the body produces results like a trimmer waistline, thinner thighs and a leaner looking torso, facial exercise enhances the hidden muscles by strengthening and repositioning them. This action has a very positive effect on your skin when oxygenated blood, blood with lots of healing nutrients, is forced into the tissue of the skin.
In just hardly any time at all, you will see dramatic lifting and toning of the facial features. Without risk or harm or the stigma of plastic surgery you do the face work using your thumbs and fingers to see the face you loved five, ten even fifteen years ago.

Look Younger Longer Using Facial Exercise

Exercise is the key to living younger longer.
A recent survey conducted by Superdrug, Britain's second-largest beauty and health retailer, polled 3,000 women between the ages of 40 and 60; the survey disclosed that one in three women over 40 are thinking about plastic surgery.
Of course they are! Women and men over 40 are seeing distinct signs of aging and they do not like that they are beginning to resemble their elder relatives. The obvious signs of facial aging include droopy eyebrows, nasal labial folds, a softening jaw line and a sagging neck.
The Superdrug survey revealed that a fifth of the women between 40 and 60 would happily get a face lift if they had the money and almost one third of those polled said they'd rather look 20 years younger than be a millionaire.
This is not surprising news.
The good news is that anyone who wants to look younger, live longer and savor their good health knows that surgery should be avoided always because of the detrimental risks involved.
If you choose surgery and injections there are a myriad of contraindications that must be considered; yes, it's important to carefully select a board certified medical doctor who is trained in these modalities and thoroughly checking references that include patient satisfaction along with determining if there have been previous medical lawsuits is a must. Intuitively, you must ask yourself if you are healthy enough to survive invasive procedures.
Just because you're turning 40, 50, or even 60 doesn't mean you have to look it and aging doesn't mean you have to put yourself in harm's way to achieve a younger looking face.
There is a way to attain a youthful, toned and tightened face without resorting to costly methods that use unproven plumping and paralyzing drugs, cutting or sutures or painful procedures. Facial exercise will help you de-age your face so it looks years younger.
Facial exercise that is performed while wearing white exercise gloves will systematically and deliberately strengthen the small, hidden, underlying muscles that support our skin. Learning an exercise program takes hardly any time at all and once you know the movements, the technology is yours forever.
The best part about using facial exercise to curtail aging in your face is that everyone will always recognize you because your features will not have been distorted or altered in such a way that makes you look strange. Another great benefit is that risk is totally eliminated - no risk of infection, no risk of not liking your results, no risk of complications, no discoloration or loss of sensation, no angry scars to hide, no risk of brain damage, paralysis or death.
Will facial exercise really make you look younger? The answer is a resounding yes!
Over and over again we have seen the benefit of exercise. Jackie Silver, author of Aging Backwards: Secrets to Staying Young believes that exercise is the fountain of youth. Many leading authorities agree. According to Ms. Silver, facial exercise is vitally important to maintain your youthfulness and if you start at age 25 -30 you most likely will appear younger than your peers who have not used exercise for the face.
No matter what your age you can still get amazing results using facial exercise. Will you look like you did when you were 20? Probably not, but if you start now your face will respond by lifting, toning and tightening and it's possible to appear five, ten, even fifteen years younger in just weeks.
The Superdrug poll determined that an eye lift was the most popular choice of aging women.
You can lift droopy eyelids and eye brows using facial exercise. Eyebrows drop with age causing compression around the eyes that result in crow's feet. When you strengthen the forehead muscle with exercise you will see the eye brows lift immediately. In just a few weeks of training, you will notice that your eyes appear more open, the appearance of crow's feet is dramatically reduced and your eye brows are more youthfully positioned.
The secret to achieving great results using facial exercise starts with white exercise gloves. Learning to master your facial muscles using specialized anchoring techniques rather than puckers, twists or contortions of the features will contour and reshape your face. The thumbs and fingers in exercise gloves assure that the end of the muscle or muscle group is securely anchored before creating the contraction.
Proactively using anchoring and isometric contraction plumps up the muscles and because the facial skin is attached directly to the muscles you will immediately see and feel the lifting and tightening as you effortlessly exercise eyes, cheeks, jowls, pouches, forehead, neck and more. The action of contraction with resistance forces oxygenated blood to the skin, improving the health and elasticity of the skin.
Preserving your youth with exercise will help your confidence soar as you live younger longer.
